The full-funnel playbook for hospitals in 2026

Where digital, offline, print and radio each earn their place, and how to measure all four as one engine instead of competing silos.

Playbook

Most hospital marketing budgets are not too small. They are too blind. Money goes out across ads, hoardings, print and radio, and almost none of it comes back with a name attached. You can see what you spent. You cannot see what it bought.

The fix is not another channel. It is a single system that treats every channel as one funnel and holds all of them to the same question: how many patients, at what cost. This playbook walks the version we build for hospitals, and the order we build it in.

Start from the appointment, not the impression

Vanity metrics survive because they are easy to report. Impressions, reach, likes: none of them fill a bed. The moment you anchor every channel to a booked appointment instead, most of the noise falls away and the real picture appears.

Work backwards from the consult. A booked patient came from a call, a form or a walk-in. Each of those came from a touchpoint you can tag. Tag them all, and attribution stops being a guess.

If you cannot tie a rupee of spend to a booked patient, it does not belong on the report.

This is where offline usually gets a free pass, and it should not. A hoarding with a unique number is as measurable as a paid search ad. A radio spot with a dedicated landing page is too. The channel is not the problem. The missing instrumentation is.

Measured takeaway
Before you add a single channel, put tracking on the ones you already run. Unique numbers, QR codes and dedicated pages turn “we think it works” into a number you can defend to your board.

What each channel is actually for

Channels are not interchangeable. Treating them as one budget to be split evenly is how spend leaks. Each one does a specific job in the funnel:

Booked patients by channel, one hospital, 90 days. The line is cost per booked patient, tracked across all four.

Run it in 90 days

You do not need a year to see whether this works. A focused quarter is enough to instrument the channels, wire the reporting, and let the numbers separate what is working from what is quietly wasting budget.

  1. Audit and instrument every existing channel. No new spend yet.
  2. Wire one dashboard: enquiries, cost per booked patient, revenue by service line.
  3. Cut what does not convert, and put that budget behind what does.

Do that, and the question stops being “should we spend on marketing.” It becomes “which channel do we scale next, and by how much.” That is what a full funnel run as one engine buys you: not more spend, but spend you can finally see.
